Sally Steele
"My creative collaboration with Sally Steele spans more than twenty years, and throughout that time she has remained one of the most instinctive, passionate and deeply committed people I have ever worked with. Sally has an extraordinary ability to understand not only what a project is, but what it can become.
She can see the complex unravelling of a media and impact strategy from its earliest stages, identifying connections, opportunities and pathways that others might miss. Her ideas seem to have no limits. She is endlessly inventive, ambitious and alive to possibility, while always remaining deeply connected to the emotional heart of the work.
On Life Could Be a Dream, Sally brought immense energy, intelligence and heart to our impact campaign. She helped us take the film far beyond the cinema screen and build meaningful partnerships, conversations and pathways for social change. She never approached the work as simply a campaign; she became a true creative partner and an essential part of the life of the film.
To collaborate with someone across two decades is incredibly special. Sally has been there through different films, different chapters and the long, unpredictable journey of a creative life. Her loyalty, generosity, tenacity and belief in the work are rare. I trust her completely, value her enormously and would choose to work with her again and again."
Life Could be A Dream (2026) in cinemas UK & Australia

I've had the privilege of working with Sally across three documentaries spanning almost two decades, beginning with my debate feature Bra Boys in 2007. Sally played a huge role in taking that film from an independent documentary to a national cultural conversation, helping it become the highest-grossing documentary in Australian history at the time.
Following that success, she not only led the publicity campaign for Fighting Fear, but came on board as Associate Producer after securing Joel Edgerton as narrator, as well as outstanding blanket national coverage.
When it came time to make In Pieces Together in 2026 , there was never really any question about who I wanted on board. Sally has a rare ability to handle deeply personal stories with care while never losing sight of the bigger social impact they can have. Her campaign was thoughtful, strategic and incredibly effective, combining social media, events, publicity and media in a way that helped the film reach audiences far beyond what most independent documentaries could expect.
Sally's an outside-the-box thinker who consistently delivers results, but what I value most is that she understands not only the story the film is trying to tell, but also the voice of the filmmaker behind it. That's a rare skill, and one of the reasons I've trusted Sally with some of the most important projects of my career.
